As an introduction to our Colonization Unit today in class we listened to the Virginia Company of London song from Disney's Pocahontas.  We discussed the lyrics of the song and how they directly relate to the Virginia SOLs we are covering in class.  Here is a clip of the video to practice at home :)

Also, today in class we discussed Cactus Hill, one of the oldest archaeological sites in North America.  Evidence was found that humans lived there as long as 18,000 years ago!  In class, students will work on illustrating Cactus Hill and the dig site there.
